Our Mission

The Hub creates a network of women who challenge the norms of male-dominated industries. We celebrate and uplift all women in trades , including cis, trans, and non-binary individuals, who embody the strength and resilience of womanhood. We provide space for women-led trade businesses to find support, build networks, market their businesses, and strengthen the pathways for new tradeswomen entering the field, all while honoring those who paved the way.

Meet the Founder: Julie Walther

Julie Walther’s journey is one of craftsmanship, advocacy, and impact. From her early days as a metalsmith to her work in youth development and philanthropy, she has always been dedicated to creating opportunities for women.

As founder of Stagehands Clothing, Julie curated durable, well fitting workwear for women in physically demanding fields. Her passion for supporting women in trades led her to co-found Women in Trades Meetup in 2023, which quickly grew into a thriving community.

Recognizing the need for deeper support, she expanded her mission with a for-profit venture offering back-office services to women-led trades businesses, helping them focus on their craft while growing sustainably.

Through her leadership, a group of members went on to found the nonprofit Women In Trades NC, dedicated to building the next generation of skilled tradeswomen through education, mentorship, and access to high-paying careers. With every step, Julie continues to break barriers, build community, and create lasting change.

The Women In Trades Hub, WiTH, is where tradeswomen claim their power. Here, women turn skill and passion into real wealth, then reach back to bring others up with them. We believe there is enough work to go around, and that strong professional networks lift everyone higher.
